The Archaeological Museum in Zagreb succeeded in 2001 in purchasing a valuable archaeological collection, built up through numerous years of persevering and enthusiastic collecting by Mr M. Pavletic. The collection subsequently became the property of his daughter, Mrs I. Bacic, who decided to offer it to the Archaeological Museum for purchase, wishing it to remain the same in the future as it was when she inherited it. The Collection is not strictly profiled in terms of its content. It consists of 1269 objects in total, of diverse characteristics and origin. Out of the 1016 objects of definite classical origin there are only few of Greek provenance, whereas diverse objects of Roman origin are represented in a much higher quantity. The Collection also contains Prehistoric, Egyptian and Medieval artefacts.
