The exhibition Greek, Greek-colonial and Celtic coins from the Museum of Slavonia in Osijek brings to the fore the achievements of the Greek and Celtic coinage in the period between the 5th and the 1st centuries B. C. A series of thematic units represents the Greek and Celtic coins of a diverse typological spectrum, its most significant accomplishments and particularities of engraving art of the period of Classical Antiquity.
Exhibited are coins of Ancient Greece, of the islands and colonies, of the Macedonian kings and states around the Mediterranean where the Greek culture thrived. Individual subjects are illustrated by dozens of exhibits of exceptional value, acquired by the Osijek Museum through a planned building up of the collections over its 128 years-long existence.
