Program Description

1. Digital Andragogical Competences

The project aims to enhance the digital competences of museum staff, increase the institution’s visibility, and develop innovative digital content and educational programs tailored to adults and older learners. Participants will acquire the skills needed to effectively teach adult and senior visitors how to engage with digital resources, thereby broadening the museum’s reach and diversifying its audience.

Museum staff will receive training in digital literacy and technological integration to optimize learning experiences through digital tools, with a focus on the use of multimedia and interactive elements. The training will also include the development of digital communication strategies for online environments, adaptation to rapidly evolving technologies, promotion of cultural sensitivity, accessibility, and inclusion, as well as the effective integration of technology into museum operations.

2. The Archaeological Museum as an Urban Museum

Through collaboration with city residents via workshops and educational programs, we aim to strengthen our connection with the local community and improve our communication strategies. We will explore innovative methods to extend the museum’s activities beyond its physical walls, bringing our collections and exhibitions directly to the public.

A key aspect of positioning the museum as an active part of the urban fabric is staff training in urban tourism concepts. An archaeological museum functioning as an urban museum provides a unique opportunity to explore the interaction between archaeological discoveries and the city’s history.

We expect this transformation to encourage greater participation in cultural heritage projects across the city, improve cultural management practices, and contribute to better protection of archaeological sites and historical buildings. By advocating for the preservation of the city’s cultural and architectural heritage, the museum can play a key role in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of local cultural identity.

3. Ecology in the Archaeological Museum

Environmental issues will be integrated into our public communication and museum activities. Staff will be trained to present exhibitions and collections in a way that highlights the complex interrelationship between humans and the environment throughout history.

Ecology in archaeology explores how ancient societies adapted to, modified, and influenced their ecosystems. Understanding these relationships allows us to better communicate their relevance to contemporary environmental challenges. We will also examine how visitor behavior affects their museum experience and the preservation of exhibited objects.

This approach will enhance the museum’s educational value by emphasizing the practical application of archaeological knowledge. Practical and interactive exhibits will encourage visitors to actively explore the ecological dimensions of the past. Our exhibitions and permanent display will illustrate the evolution of human societies over time, contrasting the lack of environmental awareness in earlier periods with today’s efforts to protect the environment. By juxtaposing the past and present, we aim to highlight the importance of sustainable development and responsible environmental management.
